BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – It’s hard to believe the baseball regular season is already two-thirds of the way complete, but with considerable postseason intentions, the season may just be getting into full swing for the 15th-ranked Florida Tech Panthers.

Currently 27-5, and winners in seven of their last nine contests, the Panthers open up the month of April with an always-important Sunshine State Conference road series at Barry Thursday at 6 p.m.

Fresh off its 6-3 defeat of Palm Beach Atlantic at home Tuesday, Florida Tech seeks its third consecutive league series victory after claiming a combined five of six against Rollins and Florida Southern the past two weekends.

Ty Cohen

In Tuesday’s quality win, freshman Ty Cohen fanned a career-high 11 and Florida Tech used a four-run seventh inning to stave off the Sailfish.

In his best start thus far in his young Panther career, Cohen displayed great command of a number of different pitches, allowing just six hits in seven innings to improve to 5-1 on the year.

Reid Neal

Continuing his recent tear, second baseman Reid Neal added four more hits, giving the league’s hit leader 11 in his last four games.

Having lost six of seven, Barry hopes its momentum from Tuesday’s 8-2 victory over Florida Memorial carries into Thursday’s action.

The Buccaneers are led by the offensive duo of Ryan Baldwin and Greg Brodzinski. Together the two have combined for seven home runs and 60 RBIs.

Ashton Fronsoe

Reliable righty Ashton Fronsoe is expected to take the ball in game one Thursday. The Palm City, Florida native is 6-1 with a 2.66 ERA through 47.1 innings.
