Palm Bay Council To Announce New City Manager Tonight

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The Palm Bay city council will select the new city manager at tonight’s special council meeting at 6 p.m.

The recruiting firm of Colin Baenziger & Associates recommended finalists from a pool of 79 applicants from around the country.

The council was also provided a list of other candidates with alternative skill sets per council’s request to seek individuals with non-traditional qualifications.

The top finalists include former city managers and deputy city managers from cities in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas.

This pool also included candidates with experience in private sector corporate management and consulting.

According to the posted job description, the next city manager will be expected to review the city’s operations critically to determine what can be done to fund roads, build utility infrastructure, structure pensions that are sustainable, and focus on economic development.
