‘Stars of the Space Coast Awards’ Name Finalists For May 1 Event

The Finalists have been named for the Health First “Stars of the Space Coast Awards,” which will be presented May 1 by 2-1-1 Brevard to honor the “stellar work” of local nonprofits.

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The Finalists have been named for the Health First “Stars of the Space Coast Awards,” which will be presented May 1 by 2-1-1 Brevard to honor the “stellar work” of local nonprofits. 

The event will be held at the Exploration Tower in Cape Canaveral.

The first finalists list is for the Health First Supernova Award which recognizes a nonprofit for a magnifying impact; Brevard Schools Foundation, Central Brevard Sharing Center and The Haven for Children.

The next award is for the Central Florida Hand Center Lodestar Award that recognizes an employee who has had significant impact on the nonprofit employer and the people it serves.

The finalists are Brevard Achievement Center and Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.

The All Pro Garage Doors Superstar Award recognizes an employee who has had significant impact on the nonprofit employer and the people it serves.

The finalists for this award are the Linda Ahearn of Catholic Charities, Patricia Nellius of Brevard Family Partnership and Susan Thomas of Rolling Readers.

The Grimaldi Candies Award will be presented to a nominee not chosen as a finalist for the Supernova Award and was selected in a “people’s choice” online vote.

The finalists list includes Brevard Achievement Center, Family Promise of Brevard and Nana’s House.

The finalists for the awards and winners were chosen by a panel judges.

 

The speaker for the ceremony will be Greg Pallone of Central Florida News 13.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The nonprofit 2-1-1 Brevard operates a 24-hour helpline that provides information and referral to resources as well as crisis and suicide intervention. Callers reach helpline specialists by dialing 2-1-1.

Tickets are available online through April 26 at 211brevard.org for $35 each for the event at Exploration Tower.
