SURF REPORT FOR MAY 15 -17
SATURDAY: Surf heights this Saturday morning are mostly in the waist-high range with some freak sets approaching chest-high along the Melbourne Beach area.
Early onshore winds are already producing bumpy conditions. Winds will increase even more by late morning.
SUNDAY: Surf should still average waist-high with bumpy conditions continuing from steady onshore winds.
Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 78 degrees.

Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966. He was also the first to surf several of North Carolina’s remote islands in the mid ’60s and travels frequently to surf in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii. He provided his first surf reporting and weekend forecasts in 1968 live on WKKO radio from the RonJon Surf Shop on Cocoa Beach Pier. He was the 1968 Florida Men’s Surfing Champion and is the current Florida Legend’s Surfing Champion. He has gathered over 300 amateur 1st place awards in both shortboard and longboard divisions. He is a 2014 Inductee into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame.
