Brevard Achievement Center Lands $9 Million Contract at Langley Air Force Base

Before the arrival of Brevard Achievement Center in Brevard, Space Coast residents with disabilities had absolutely no services in the area to meet their needs.

Brevard Achievement Center (BAC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides innovative services and opportunities to assist people with disabilities achieve personal success, announced that it has won a new five-year, $1.8 million per year contract to provide all commissary operations for Langley Air Force Base in Virginia effective June 1.

The contract employs 65 associates whose duties include warehousing, shelf stocking and custodial services for over 97,000 square feet of facilities.

In addition, BAC’s Langley AFB team will stock approximately 1.15 million cases of packaged goods annually.

For the past 23 years, Brevard Achievement Center associates have acquired various service skills working at federal employment sites throughout Florida and in Puerto Rico that are applicable to a commercial environment.

Brevard Achievement Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency founded in 1968 whose mission is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.

Headquartered in Rockledge, the Center also has offices in Melbourne, Titusville and Orlando, Florida.

In addition, through its partnerships with the AbilityOne Program and RESPECT of Florida, Brevard Achievement Center offers employment opportunities via federal and state employment contracts in north and central Florida, as well as Puerto Rico.

BAC is a nationally accredited agency which holds the highest accreditation offered by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) and is a United Way partner.
