BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced their 2015 recipient of its $500 Hospitality Sponsorship is Merritt Island High School graduate Derek DeHart.
The CVB’s annual Hospitality Sponsorship is awarded to a student from either MIHS’s Hospitality Academy or Rockledge High School’s Academy.
The CVB’s selection committee had a tough decision this year, as several students from both schools applied for this award.
Winner DeHart said he plans to use the scholarship to assist him in his goal of entering the hospitality industry after he completes his BS in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida.”

“This sponsorship is a big part of what we encourage here at the Cocoa Beach CVB,” said Jennifer Sugarman, Director of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce’s CVB.
“Assisting the next generation achieve its dreams of success in the tourism and hospitality fields will only help our area with retention of talent and progressing forward as a customer-service driven tourism destination. DeHart has a passion for sports as well and the game of golf, and he looks forward to making a career out of his combined interests in a “tourist rich location.”
DeHart was awarded his certificate at the CVB Board meeting in front of Board members and guests.
