Cocoa Police, Medical Personnel Aid Unresponsive 1-Year Old Child

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police officers answered a call at an apartment at 800 N. Fiske Boulevard on Tuesday at about 1:45 p.m. and discovered an unresponsive 1-year old child.
According to Cocoa Police Public Information Officer Barbara Matthews, officers arrived on scene and assisted with CPR until medical personnel arrived and transported the child to Wuesthoff hospital.
The child is currently in critical condition. Once the child is stabilized, he will be transported to Nemours Hospital in Orlando.
According to Officer Matthews, the child was home with mother’s boyfriend at the time of the call, and at this time, both the child’s mother and the boyfriend are cooperating with the police.
There is one additional child in the home.
