Community Voting Campaign Could Score $100,000 For New Dog Park

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County dog lovers, here’s your chance to help your community win a $100,000 grant for a new dog park.

Brevard County Parks and Recreation is in a grant contest to win $100,000 for a dog park, and Merritt Island is one of 15 nominated cities in a voting campaign to enter the contest.

The voting for nominations began today, May 13, and runs through June 10.

The 15 cities with the most votes will then be entered into the finalist round.

Voting for the finalist round will start June 17 and run through July 22.

The city with the most votes in the finalist round will win $100,000 and 4 runner ups will receive $25,000.

Votes are needed, so please take part and also help spread the word by asking your community, family, and friends to vote daily to get Merritt Island into the finalist round of the contest.

In the Parks Build Community Contest, Brevard County held the number 2 spot nationwide beating out Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Charlotte, and Austin.
