Florida Tech Softball Waits To Be Selected During Monday’s Selection Show

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – It’s always a special moment when a college team sees its name placed into the ever important bracket, signifying that the season lives on and the dream of a national championship is still within reach.
For Florida Tech softball, it could be an even more surreal experience as the team is hoping to hear its name called during the NCAA Division II Softball Selection Show for the first time in program history on Monday.
The selection show will be available to stream online, with a link being posted to NCAA.com and the NCAA’s softball page, starting at 10 a.m. ET.
Eight teams from each region receive a bid, with each conference’s champion receiving an automatic selection.
The Panthers were ranked sixth in the most recent NCAA South Region rankings.
FIT completed the season with a 32-16 overall record, including a 25-14 record within the South Region.
As conference champions, Shorter (GSC), Tampa (SSC) and Tuskegee (SIAC) have garnered automatic bids.
