BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – No. 3 Florida Tech will make its third straight appearance at the NCAA Division II Super Region Two Championships when the tournament opens on Sunday at Savannah Quarters Country Club.

The Panthers are one of nine teams invited to participate in the three-round, three-day event. Joining the Crimson and Gray are six of the top nine ranked teams in NCAA Division II, according to GolfStat.

Those six teams include No. 1 Rollins, No. 2 Nova Southeastern, No. 4 Flagler, No. 5 Lynn, No. 6 Barry and No. 9 West Florida. No. 12 Saint Leo and No. 15 Florida Southern round out the nine participating. Also competing are four individuals – Montevallo’s Arin Eddy and Elaine Wood, Limestone’s Brittany LaPadula and West Georgia’s Stephanie Bennett.

Following Tuesday’s final round, the top three teams and the top three individuals not with a team will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships, scheduled for May 13-16 at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan.

Savannah Quarters is a familiar course to FIT as it last competed at the country club for the Armstrong Pirate Women’s Invitational from March 2-3.

In that tournament, the Panthers recorded their best finish of the spring season, placing second of 16 teams. Eventual All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team honoree Felicia Leftinger tied for second at one-over-par.

Johanna Larsson, an All-SSC First Team selection, finished two-over for fourth place to round out the Panthers’ top five finishers.
