High temperatures have been several degrees above average for this time of year, and little relief is expected this week with highs in the low 90s inland and upper 80s across coastal locales.

FYI: Our ‘average’ or ‘normal’ temperatures are based off of historical data from 1981 to 2010.

In other words, today’s average high of 87° at Orlando was calculated using the high temperatures for May 11 from each year between 1981 through 2010.
