BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The southernmost field at West Oaks Park on Lamplighter Drive NW now has a sign bearing the name “Angels’ Field In memory of Lacey, Phillip and Christopher.”

Palm Bay Parks and Recreation unveiled the sign in a special ceremony held Saturday morning at the field where the three children who were murdered in March used to play ball with the Palm Bay West Little League.

The mayor, deputy mayor, city manager,  staff and representatives of the little league organization joined the family and friends of the three children to dedicate the field in their honor.

“This is just a small token of remembrance,” said Mayor William Capote.

“You can never replace a loss like this but this helps us always remember them.”

During the ceremony organizers of a recent charity baseball tournament donated a check for $3,000 to the Palm Bay West Little League in name and honor of Lacey, Phillip and baby Christopher.

The money will be used to help children who want to play ball in the league.

In April, the Palm Bay City Council unanimously voted to adopt a resolution to rename the field for the children.

The sign depicts the Angels’ Field name highlighted with a baseball and a three-feathered wing to represent each child.

Underneath the logo is the memorial statement with the first names of all three children.
