Donald Trump Officially Announces His Candidacy For President From Trump Plaza

NEW YORK, NEW YORK  – Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his candidacy for President of the United States from Trump Plaza in Manhattan. He is the 12th Republican who has announced a run for the White House in 2016.

“We need somebody that can take the brand of the United States and make it great again,” said the 69-year old Trump.

Trump highlighted a statement of his net worth, which is estimated to be just over $9 billion.

In the upcoming Fox News debates, Trump currently would not qualify in the top 10, according to a national Monmouth University poll released Monday.

• Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (9%)
• Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (8%),

• Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (5%),
• New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (4%),
• Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (4%),
• Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (3%).
• Trump, along with Carly Fiorina and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham each received 2%. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Ohio Gov. John Kasich got 1% and former New York Gov. George Pataki received 0%.

NOTE: Twenty percent of surveyed voters said they were undecided.
