BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Former Eastern Florida State College baseball centerfielder Luis Silverio has signed with Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

He will start his professional career in the Arizona Fall League.

Silverio, from Parkland, Florida, transferred to Eastern Florida from Palm Beach State College where he played as a freshman.

He hit .338 with 21 stolen bases for the Titans this past spring.

Silverio is the first Titan drafted since pitcher Taylor Jordan, now with the Washington Nationals, was chosen in 2009 from then-Brevard Community College.

Silverio was chosen in the draft’s 33rd round earlier this month.
