BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne police has reported that a black SUV struck a juvenile on a bicycle in the area of Race Street and Horne Street on Saturday at about 7 p.m.

The vehicle fled the area failing to render aid and was located a short time later abandoned in the area of 823 Brothers Avenue in Melbourne.

The juvenile was transported to the hospital by a relative and is currently in stable condition. The victim was then transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for further testing.

According to the Melbourne police, the Traffic Division is investigating this case.
