Longtime Palm Bay Resident, Minister, Public Servant Says Jobs Are Number One Priority
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Rob Medina, a longtime Palm Bay resident, minister, and public servant is announcing his candidacy for the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.
Medina, who has served for the past 5 years as Director of Community and Military Relations for U.S. Congressman Bill Posey, will be vying to represent District 5, which includes areas of Palm Bay, Melbourne, West Melbourne, Indialantic and Melbourne Village.
“Implementing common sense economic policies helps lay a solid foundation for businesses to create more job opportunities. It’s one key to empowering our residents,” said Medina, who also served the district for eight years as a Legislative Aide to Commissioner Jackie Colon.
“We need to be focused on ideas that enhance the quality of life throughout our communities.”
Born in 1961 in New York City, Rob Medina has been a resident of Palm Bay for 25 years. He is a military veteran who is extremely proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps. Medina serves as Director of Ministry at The House Church in Palm Bay and has served on several local boards such as Together In Partnership, Juvenile Justice Council, and is a current member of Honor America.
“Rob Medina will make an excellent county commissioner,” said Congressman Bill Posey.
“Rob has a long and distinguished record serving our nation and our communities across Brevard County. He has been an important member of my team directing our efforts to reach out to veterans and military service members. While I will feel the loss of Rob on our staff, I know Brevard residents will benefit from his positive attitude and servant’s heart.”
Medina was recently awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award for his role as Director of Ministry at The House at Palm Bay Church, the Jornada Fest Community Service Award, and received the Patriots Award in 2012 from Honor America for his outstanding leadership, service and commitment to our community.
Medina holds a Master’s of Arts in Theology Degree, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life Christian University. He is happily married to his wife Lessette and they have six children and six grandchildren.
