Sgt. Jim Haman of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office earned a silver medal on Wednesday in the Bench Press Competition at the World Police and Fire Games in Fairfax, Virginia.

Jim is a Sergeant in our West Precinct and has competed for many years in the Law Enforcement Games throughout the country.

Jim lifted in the “Super Heavyweight” Division and bench pressed 424 pounds in his second of three lifts.

During the second lift, Jim tweaked his back and was unable to move on to his final lift which would have put him in contention for the Gold Medal. Jim was actually the lightest lifter in his division and posted an incredible lift to be in contention for a medal.

I could not be more proud of Jim as a member of our agency and as a competitor who proudly represents the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Please join me in congratulating Jim for this incredible achievement and for all of the hard work it took to prepare him for the competition.
