Carol Marshall, Raelynn Vigue Awarded Florida Challenge Sports Scholarships

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Carol Marshall, a graduate of Heritage High School in Palm Bay, left, and Raelynn Vigue, a graduate of Merritt Island High School, were named as recipients of the 2015 Challenge Sports College Scholarships, awarded by Florida Challenge Sports Events, Inc. of Melbourne.
The scholarships were awarded based on demonstration of sportsmanship and fair play in athletic competition, academics and other aspects of life.
Marshall will attend Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach Florida and will study Exercise Science.
Vigue will attend the University of Central Florida and study Biomedical Sciences, Pre-Health.
Both students will receive $500 toward tuition, books, or room and board for the 2015/2016 college school year.
Florida Challenge Sports Events, Inc. Assists Needy Children
Challenge Sports Soccer Tournaments are fundraisers for Youth Soccer Clubs and other non-profit organizations and managed by Florida Challenge Sports Events.
Challenge Tournaments have helped raise over $1 million for these non-profit organizations since the first Holiday Challenge at Thanksgiving in 1988, with participants from as far away as China and Russia.
The organization has distributed soccer equipment to local under privileged children, to needy children in other parts of the USA, to the Soccer for Souls program and to soccer clubs devastated by hurricane Katrina.
Challenge Sports soccer tournaments provide positive experiences and life enriching activities for youth – sportsmanship and fair play, on the soccer field and in life, is the first priority.
