TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Florida State Seminoles head football coach Jimbo Fisher removed freshman quarterback De’Andre Johnson from the team Monday night after a video was released that showed Johnson punching a female Florida State student in the face last month at a Tallahassee bar.

Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery for punching the 21-year-old woman during an argument June 24.

Selected as Florida’s “Mr. Football” as a senior at First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Johnson was indefinitely suspended from the Seminoles football team last month.

According to Tallahassee police, the woman suffered bruising near her left eye, swelling of the left cheek and upper lip, and a cut near the bridge of her nose.
