Down at McKnight Family Sports Complex in Rockledge, the District 11 Champions, Yulee Little League met District 19 Champions Deland/Deltona Little League for the first game of the day.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Down at McKnight Family Sports Complex in Rockledge, the District 11 Champions, Yulee Little League met District 19 Champions Deland/Deltona Little League for the first game of the day.

Yulee won the game 23-1 in 5 innings behind Jorden Beck who had 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Faith Nevin who pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

In the second game, Deland/Deltona met District 22 Champs, Rockledge Little League.

For Rockledge, Sarabeth Smith went 2-for-3, scoring 2 runs, and Jenna Garza walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Kylah Berry pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, missing a perfect game by 1 walk, in Rockledge’s 10-0 win in 5 1/2 innings.

In the final game of the day, D11, Yulee took on D22, Rockledge. For Yulee, Kaley Connekin had a triple, but Rockledge’s Emma Ordner led Rockledge’s offense to an 8-2 victory to claim the Florida Section 3 title.

Rockledge will now represent Section 3 in the State of Florida 11-12 Softball Tournament to be held in Rockledge, July 24-26.

At Port St. John’s Space Coast Communities Sports Complex, District 19’s Palm Coast Little League met District 11’s Arlington Little League in the Junior Baseball Section 3 Tournament’s first game. For Palm Coast, Lawrence Russo, Greg Walberg and Matt Arnold each hit triples.

But, Arlington’s Hayden Bishop had a double, and Seth Carroll hit 2 doubles, one with 2 RBI, as Arlington won 16-5 in 4 1/2 innings.

In the second game, Palm Coast’s Anthony Hernandez went 2-for-3 with 2 singles while Matt Arnold and Charlie Alfano each had an RBI for their teams 2 runs. District 22’s Indian River City Little League scored 15 runs behind a Grand Slam homer by Jesse Rink (3-for-4 at the plate), and doubles by Eric Sellers (2-for-3 & a RBI), Jesse Rink and Ron Irlbeck (2-for-3 & 2 RBI). The final score was 15-2, Indian River City, in 4 1/2 innings.

In the Junior’s final game, there was a 3 hour rain delay in the bottom of the 1st inning.

After getting back underway, Indian River City’s Trey Felker and Jackson Woodward had singles. But Arlington’s Uriah Ratliff went 3-for-3 scoring 3 runs and Gage Dixon had a double and a RBI in Arlington’s 3-0 win in 6 1/2 innings.

Arlington Little League advances to the State of Florida Tournament as the Florida Section 3 Champions to be held in Rockledge, July 24-26.
