THROWBACK THURSDAY
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue developed a firefighter survival class back in 2006 known as the BEAST class: Brevard Escape and Survival Training.
This class taught the basics of self rescue techniques, rapid intervention techniques, and most importantly, how to recognize deadly fire-ground hazards.
After completing the final exercise of the week, the above class picture was taken, symbolizing the end of a long grueling week.
This particular picture is especially meaningful as two of the members in the photo are no longer with us. RIP Captain Michael DeSantis (second from right) and Lieutenant Dustin Ratliff (middle, blue hoodie).
