BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Three-time Spanish National Team player Paula Astiazaran Colina has signed to play women’s soccer at Eastern Florida State College.

Astiazaran Colina, a forward from San Sebastian, played on the U16, U17 and U 18 national teams.

“We are very excited about Paula joining our squad this year,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Carr.

“She has been the leading scorer for most of the club teams for which she played. She is a very dynamic and creative player who will fit in well with our team. She has played at a very high level and should be an impact player for us right away.”

Astiazaran Colina joins right back and center midfielder Bethan Louise Jones of Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England; Julia Hernandez, a forward and attacking midfielder from Madrid, Spain; Bethany Louise Cooper, a striker from Broadstairs (Thanet) England; and Annie Power, a forward/wing from Nottinghamshire, England, as 2015 signees.

Eastern Florida made its third consecutive NJCAA Women’s Division I National Championship tournament appearance in 2014, reaching the semifinal round. It finished with a 13-1-2 record, giving Carr his 50th victory at Eastern Florida.

The women were 6-0-2 at home and won their fourth straight NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA championship.
