Brevard County Grand Jury Indicts Palm Bay Woman For Killing Her Mother

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Grand Jury issued a First-degree Premeditated Murder indictment on Tuesday against 57-year old Lisa Leikvold of 2897 Hiawatha Avenue in Palm Bay, for the July 29 death of her mother, 84-year-old Laverne Hoffman.

Hoffman’s body was discovered in her home at 555 Harbor View Drive, Melbourne, with a knife protruding from her chest.

Leikvold was taken into custody at the scene.

Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt presented three witnesses to the Grand Jury: the Brevard County Medical Examiner, a Melbourne Police Department Crime Scene Investigator and a Melbourne Police Department Detective.

Leikvold has been held without bond at the Brevard County Jail where she is scheduled for a first appearance on the indicted charge on Wednesday, Hunt said.
