DAYTONA, FLORIDA – “During his memorable life and career, Buddy Baker helped define Daytona International Speedway, winning a record four DAYTONA 500 poles and six races, including the 1980 DAYTONA 500.

He also won over millions of fans, becoming one of auto racing’s most endearing characters. He was beloved as a competitor and perhaps even more so as a broadcaster.

On behalf of Daytona International Speedway, I want to offer sincere condolences to Buddy’s family and friends.

We will miss him dearly. Godspeed.”
