Florida Tech To Host Eastern Florida In Volleyball Match Wednesday At 6 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With the fall semester underway, the anticipation for the 2015-16 athletics year is beginning to become palpable.

For Florida Tech’s volleyball team, its wait is almost over as the Panthers will play their first preseason scrimmage of the 2015 season against the crosstown, Eastern Florida State College Titans.

The contest with the Titans is set for Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center.

FIT heads into the season with much of the same roster from the 2014 campaign.

The Panthers are led by seven upperclassmen, including six seniors: Payton Bayless, Marilyn Dick, Alea Hamm, Kim Juriga, Ashtin Truesdale and Cassidy Ziech.

Head coach Amy O’Brien welcomed four newcomers to this year’s squad. She expects the incoming recruiting class to make an immediate impact.

In the previous match in the series, the Panthers defeated the Titans 4-1 on Aug. 20, 2014.
