Gov. Rick Scott Names Robert Spottswood To Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Robert Spottswood to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Spottswood, 58, of Key West, is the chief executive officer of Spottswood Companies Inc.

He currently serves as a member of the Third District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission and the Governor’s Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding.

Spottswood received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

He succeeds Richard Corbett and is appointed for a term beginning September 2, 2015, and ending January 6, 2018.

As a sixth generation Floridian from the Keys, I know Robert cares deeply about our beautiful state and preserving Florida as the fishing capital of the world,” said Governor Rick Scott.

I would also like to thank Dick Corbett for his leadership over the last 12 years on the board and his dedication to protecting Florida’s incredible natural resources.”

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
