NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Gray skies and light rain are greeting us across East Central Florida this morning as we remain in a very moist and unstable pattern across the peninsula.

A weak surface frontal boundary remains stalled across North Florida, along with an upper level disturbance overhead. Gusty southwest winds on the south side of these features will keep rain chances high through the weekend.

We will continue to see periods of light to moderate rain this morning with a few more storms this afternoon as we get some breaks in the clouds.

Lightning always remains the main hazard with any storms, but conditions remain favorable for activity to produce gusty winds over 50 mph and locally heavy rainfall.
