ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCFKnights.com) – The string of eight consecutive practices without rain was snapped Thursday when UCF held its ninth session of 2015 preseason camp, exactly three weeks before the season opener against FIU Sept. 3.

UCF previously worked inside Nicholson Fieldhouse twice during camp, but Thursday marked the first day when inclement weather affected the schedule.

While inside, UCF focused on half-line skelly drills, along with kickoff return and punt units.

When the first teams clashed, it once again was the Justin Holman to Tre’Quan Smith show on several passing plays. Among offensive notables outside of the first team were running back Michael Willett who used his offensive line to provide a long run, and a deep touchdown from Bo Schneider to Chris Johnson.

The Knights will now start looking ahead to practice No. 10 on Friday.

“I thought they worked pretty well today,” head coach George O’Leary said.

“The key to winning at this level is practicing correctly and practicing successfully as far as each day, but be consistent in that. You can’t practice one day and come out the next day and not get it done. I see more consistency. We’ve got to come out tomorrow and be better than where we were today. If we get that accomplished, we’re growing as a football team.”
