WEEK 2 OF PRESEASON PRACTICE CONCLUDES

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCFKnights.com) – UCF celebrated Interim AD/Head Coach George O’Leary’s 69th birthday Monday with a little Chubby Checker before its 13th practice of preseason camp.

When the first horn sounded, Coach O’Leary demanded the entire team imitate what special assistant Manny Messeguer will be doing. That was when “The Twist” began playing on the speakers, and all of the Knights got into the act including O’Leary himself.

With stretching concluded, UCF went into individual drills but had to finish inside Nicholson Fieldhouse due to lightning and a strong storm that moved through. Under cover, the Black and Gold worked on their red zone game in full pads.

A couple of the bright spots on the day during the team perimeter segments came on quality rushes from William Stanback, C.J. Jones and Taj McGowan, while Justin Holman found Jordan Akins who picked up some YAC thanks to some great downfield blocking.

Coach O’Leary ended practice early after liking what he saw from kickers Matthew Wright and Donald Delahaye as they both had a couple of attempts from 53 yards out.

Week two of 2015 UCF football preseason camp will conclude with practice No. 14 on Tuesday.
