“This unique training opportunity provides access to training for the men and women who volunteer their time for the protection of others,” said CFO Jeff Atwater, who also serves as Florida’s State Fire Marshal.

“This event offers in-depth, hands-on training not only to Florida’s firefighter community, but it has now grown to include several southern states.”

Included in this year’s training event are a variety of courses that range from two hours to 40 hours in length involving hands-on, live-fire training in areas ranging from basic firefighting to forestry firefighting, engine company operations, vehicle extrication, and animal first aid.

The free event has been made possible through the cooperation of Florida’s local fire departments, the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Florida Forest Service, and the Florida Fire and Emergency Services Foundation.
