Congratulations to Firefighter Larissa Conroy of Station 48 in Viera, C shift, for bringing home the Silver medal at the National Firefighter Throwdown that was held in Atlanta, Ga. last weekend.

The Firefighter Throwdown is an invitation only fitness competition for elite female and male firefighters. Being an invitational event, only 100 athletes were chosen to compete.

Four diverse, torturous WODs (Workouts of the Day) were created to be in keeping with Functional Fitness, but also mirror the physical activity a firefighter experiences on a daily basis.

Conroy took home some awesome prizes and proudly represented Brevard County Fire Rescue and the gym where she trains.

Thank you Larissa for showing the nation that Brevard County Fire Rescue has one of the fittest female firefighters.
