Brevard County Fire Rescue Promotes Chief Officers Tom Klein and Scott Gold
By Brevard County Fire Rescue // September 13, 2015

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Since 2001, September 11th has been a day of mourning and remembrance.
We will never forget the sacrifices made that day on U.S. soil, nor will we forget the sacrifices made since then on foreign soil as we continue to fight the global war on terrorism.
But this September 11th was a little different. September 11th was a joyous occasion for the entire Department because we promoted two chief officers that are not only qualified to serve in the ranks they were promoted to, but have earned their right to be here today.
Congratulations to the new Assistant Chief of Operations, Scott Gold, who began his career with Brevard County in 1994 after relocating from Broward County and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1999, then District in 2013.
Scott holds many hazmat and technical rescue certifications and credentials. He was also one of the longest serving team members on Brevard County’s Hazmat. Scott’s knowledge, experience, motivation and education make him my choice for the Assistant Chief of Operations.
Congratulations also goes out to District Chief Tom Klein, who started with Brevard County as a firefighter in 2004 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2009.
He has served the citizens of Brevard County at various locations, with his last assignment as an Engine Company Lieutenant at Station 43 on Merritt Island.
Tom holds a variety of certifications and credentials that he has earned even before arriving here in Brevard County. Tom’s knowledge, experience, motivation and education make him my choice for the rank of District Chief with Brevard County Fire Rescue.
