BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On the heels of its eight-goal outburst earlier in the week, the Florida Tech offense continued to roll Saturday en route to a decisive 3-1 victory over Coker.

Impact freshmen Keira McCarthy and Lina Sundelin combined for all three scores in the effort, as the Panthers improved to 3-1 for the first time since 2013.

Behind the foot of McCarthy, Florida Tech was able to jump out to a 2-0 cushion in the first half. The Melbourne High School product broke a scoreless tie in the 21st minute after knifing through the defense at the top of the 18-yard box and beating Coker keeper Shelby Middleton for her fourth goal of the season.

McCarthy would later add to the Panthers’ lead in the 38th minute, marking her second consecutive multi-score game.

Still up 2-0 in the second half, Sundelin put the early dagger in the Cobras in her first career start. The midfielder found some space near the top of the box in the 51st minute and was able to make Coker pay with a strike into the back of the net.

A Coker header would erase the potential shutout in the 70th minute, but the deficit was clearly too difficult to overcome.
