UPDATE: Sept: 18, 1:54 p.m.

Cole Monda was located, unharmed, in the area of Cedar Avenue and Minutemen Causeway by members of the Cocoa Beach community. Monda was subsequently reunited with his family by law enforcement.

No foul play is suspected, according to Maj. Scott Rosenfeld of the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

“It was learned that yesterday evening, Monda returned home later than his allotted time, and believed he was going to be in trouble with his family,” said Maj. Rosenfeld in a release.

“Therefore, he travelled to an area near Cedar Avenue and Formosa Drive, sought shelter from the rain under a tarp, and fell asleep.”
