BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Business Recognition Committee has announced the selection of Lockheed Martin as Business Champion of the Month for August.

“Lockheed Martin is a pillar in our community and certainly deserved this award for all it does for our chamber community as well,” said Jennifer Sugarman, President & CEO of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“We look forward to growing our partnership with Lockheed Martin as Joe Mayer takes the helm of our board in 2016.”

The Business Champion of the Month is an award that is designed to recognize excellence in the business community.

“It’s my pleasure to award Lockheed Martin the Business Champion of the Month Award,”said Gregory Weido, Business Recognition Committee (BRC) Chair.

“Lockheed Martin continues to provide valuable resources and significant influence in our local job market and space programs. When people think of excellence and support of our local community, Lockheed is right at the top.”

The award recipient is chosen by members of the Business Recognition Committee.

“The primary goal of the BRC is to recognize outstanding business performance in the community,” Weido said,

“The Business Champion of the Month award is the Chamber’s way of saying ‘Job well done!’ and to really focus on praising these hard working folks.”

Joe Mayer, Director, Government Relations – Florida and CBRCC’s Board of Directors Chair-elect said, “Lockheed Martin and its employees are proud to be part of the Space Coast community and the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. Together, we will continue to lead the world in space exploration, protect our war fighters, care for our veterans, grow jobs and expand economic opportunity for all.”
