Melbourne Police Arrest Man Involved In Armed Disturbance With Neighbor

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police arrested Raul Martinez-Sanchez, 65, on Saturday morning about 1:30 a.m. at his home on 2204 Warwick Road after Martinez-Sanchez was involved in an armed disturbance with his neighbor, according to police.
“Martinez-Sanchez was reported to be visiting his neighbors when he was asked to leave and an argument started,” said Melbourne Police Lt. Tim Turner.
“Martinez-Sanchez produced a silver revolver handgun and pointed it in the face of two residents that lived at the home threatening both of them.”
Lt. Turner said that Martinez-Sanchez then fled back to his residence next door and went inside after the first officer on scene confronted him.
“A perimeter was established around the house where he was taken into custody trying to flee through a hole in the fence in the back yard,” said Lt. Turner.
“Two more occupants not involved eventually came out of the house.”
According to Lt. Turner, a loaded .38 caliber silver revolver was recovered from the backyard and identified by the victims as the firearm used to threaten them.
Martinez-Sanchez was charged with Aggravated assault with a firearm and Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Martinez was also found to have an active warrant for failing to serve farm time.
