Be sure to keep in mind that we are forecasting a higher than normal chance (60%) for storms during the afternoon.

Storms are expected to move toward the north and northeast at 10 to 15 mph, so those headed to the beach should be especially vigilant.

Heavy downpours and lightning can be expected with afternoon storms.

Also, conditions are favorable for rotation in storms. A few waterspouts and funnel clouds were reported offshore this morning, and funnel clouds will be possible with a few storms this afternoon.
