BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Around 3 p.m. on October 28 members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit captured Dustin Shane Clawson, who was listed just yesterday as our Fugitive of the Week.

Within minutes after being posted on Facebook our team began to receive tips about Clawson’s possible location.

Clawson was subsequently taken into custody at his girlfriend’s residence located in SE Palm Bay.

Just prior to his arrest, Clawson was observed exiting the residence at which time he quickly went back inside.

As our Fugitive Agents approached the residence Clawson came back outside, observed our agents and then ran back to the home where he barricaded himself inside.

After approximately 20 minutes Clawson finally surrendered himself to the Agents and was taken into custody without further incident.

After his arrest, Clawson admitted that he knew he was this week’s “Turn ‘Em In Tuesday” Fugitive after friends and family notified him that he was listed on the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

This arrest is another perfect example of what happens when our citizens and our agency partner together to protect our community.
