City of Cocoa Water Tank Is ‘Tank of the Year’ Finalist, Winner To Be Announced Friday

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The City of Cocoa water tank is in the running for the 2015 “Tank of the Year,” and results will be announced on Friday.
All the votes are in and the top 12 water tanks have been chosen. The top-voted tanks for 2015 are Plant City, Fla.; Cedarville, Ohio; Cocoa, Fla.; Nobleton, Ontario, Canada; Lebanon, Mo.; Zebulon, N.C.; North Newton, Kan.; Amboy, Ill.; Oak Grove, Mo.; Chesterfield, Va.; Carrollton, Texas; and Mont Belvieu, Texas.
Since 2006, Tnemec has celebrated the innovative and creative uses of its coatings on water tanks with the annual Tank of the Year contest. Each year, tanks of all varieties from across the U.S. and Canada are narrowed down to determine one water tank worthy of the contest crown.
The finalists were selected from a field of more than 200 water tanks nominated for the competition.
The public cast a total of 20,703 votes online. The water tank that received the most votes was the Plant City, Fla., strawberry tank, which collected 5,792 votes, while the highest-voted classic tank was Pittsfield, Ohio, which collected 82 votes.
The dozen semi-finalists, as were determined by the online voting process, will be judged by a panel of water tank enthusiasts to determine the Tank of the Year.
Only the top twelve tanks are eligible to win the top prize.
