BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Monday morning, community leaders participated in the Grand Opening of Satcom Direct’s new world headquarters in Viera.

The brand new 42,000 square foot building is Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certified, the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability.

The purpose of the move was to consolidate its headquarters operations in Satellite Beach into a single, larger, more efficient facility.

This need, together with continued strong growth anticipated over the coming years, drove plans to establish a new, expanded, and technologically advanced facility.

”The new SD world headquarters location embodies our growth as a company, and our evolution from a small business into a global connectivity provider, said Jim Jensen, Founder and CEO of Satcom Direct.

“Our business was built in this community and expanding our presence here further illustrates our commitment to Brevard County.”

Congressman Bill Posey was also on-hand as one of the speakers for this event.

“I salute Satcom Direct’s dedication to our community and commitment to developing cutting edge global communications technology that is critical to our national security and way of life.”

Satcom Direct currently has offices worldwide, including five U.S. locations, plus UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, UAE, Switzerland, Russia, and Hong Kong.

“Satcom Direct could have chosen to uproot their headquarters and relocate to another country,” said Robin Fisher.

“Instead, they chose to remain in Brevard County and we applaud them for their continued commitment and support to our community.”

Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast reflected on the strides Satcom Direct has made since its creation in 1997.

To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.
