TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (Seminoles.com) – No. 12/8 Florida State (4-0, 2-0 ACC) put the finishing touches on its final practice of the week leading up to Saturday night’s rivalry game against Miami (3-1, 0-0 ACC) under the lights inside Doak Campbell Stadium in front of a national audience on ABC.

The Noles are looking for their sixth straight win over the Hurricanes as Florida State is a perfect 5-0 against Miami with Jimbo Fisher as head coach. Florida State has also registered 26 straight wins over ACC opponents and 17 consecutive victories at home.

A win on Saturday would give Florida State a 5-0 start for the fourth straight year.

Last year against Miami, Florida State overcame a 16-0 deficit in Miami Gardens behind Miami-native Dalvin Cook’s seven-carry, 92-yard, two-touchdown performance. Cook’s 26-yard TD run with 3:05 left in the fourth quarter gave the Noles a 30-26 win.

Roberto Aguayo drilled three field goals including a crucial 53-yarder in the fourth quarter. Jalen Ramsey claimed National Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording three tackles, 1.0 TFL, a forced fumble, four pass break-ups, a blocked PAT and an interception in the fourth to seal the come-from-behind victory for the Noles.

Through the first four games in 2015, Florida State has done a tremendous job of limiting the turnovers and is one of just three schools to commit only one turnover on the year (LSU, Navy and FSU). The Seminoles are the lone school in the country that hasn’t committed an offensive turnover this year.

FSU enters Saturday’s game ranked 14th nationally in turnover margin, while the Hurricanes lead the ACC and rank second nationally with a turnover margin of 2.25 forcing 12 turnovers on the year.

Marvin Jones Jersey Retirement

Florida State will retire the jersey of two-time consensus All-American linebacker Marvin Jones (1990-92) at halftime of Saturday night’s game. Jones won both the Butkus and Lombardi Awards as a junior in 1992 and finished fourth in the balloting for the 1992 Heisman Trophy. The Seminoles finished fourth in the Associated Press poll in 1990 and 1991. In 1992, the ‘Noles finished 11-1 and ranked second in the country after a 27-14 win over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl.

Jones was selected fourth overall by the New York Jets in the 1993 NFL Draft and played his entire 10-year professional career with the team, totaling 1,022 tackles in 142 games. Jones will become the 10th football player honored with the retirement of a number/jersey in school history.

Prior to the game, Jones will join Doug Mannheimer at the Sod Cemetery for a very special edition of Sod Talk. Festivities will begin at 6:30 pm in front of the Sod Cemetery located just outside the gate entrance to the Albert J. Dunlap Athletic Training Facility.

SOLD OUT!

After all student tickets were claimed on Tuesday afternoon, Florida State has officially announced a sell out for Saturday’s primetime match-up against Miami. Three of the top 5 crowds all-time inside Doak have come with the Hurricanes in town. The 2013 showdown between No. 3 Florida State and No. 7 Miami drew 84,409 fans – the largest crowd ever in Doak Campbell Stadium history. The Seminoles defeated the Hurricanes 41-14. The other two were 2005 (84,347 – FSU d. UM 10-7) and 2003 (84,336 – UM d. FSU 22-14) – good for third and fourth, respectively.
