Saloni Patel is your typical busy young woman as a freshman at the University of Florida, taking classes, involved in clubs and having fun with friends.

What sets her apart from other young freshman is what she also does in her free time – volunteering and spending time helping others.

Saloni says working with the Doctor’s Goodwill Foundation on missions to India and here in Brevard County, has changed her perspective on the world and greatly influenced what she sees for her future.

Saying the missions and volunteering here at home has made her realize how lucky she has been, and how it has helped her appreciate all that she has been given in life.

Although she is studying business in college, the young woman says she is still a little unsure about what do with her future. Once thing she is sure about is that she wants to live a life that if happy and fulfilled and the road to that is by helping others: “I know I want to continue giving back to the community, whether it is through my career or my own time,” she said.

GOODWILL IN HER HEART

Her first trip with the organization to India provided her with a wonderful opportunity to volunteer while at the same time gave her a chance to make a first-hand impact in the lives of others.

She says that organizations like DGF exemplify what it really means to give for selfless reasons and making an impact on your world and the world of others.
