City of Cocoa Announces Matthew Fuhrer As New Assistant City Manager

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Matthew Fuhrer has been promoted to Assistant City Manager for the City of Cocoa. 

Fuhrer has been with the city for approximately two years, serving as the Special Assistant to the City Manager where he has worked on several city projects including the Strategic Planning process.

“Matt has demonstrated his commitment to improving and moving our City forward, and he has earned the respect, trust and admiration with those whom he works both internally and externally,”said Cocoa City Manager, John A. Titkanich, Jr.

“I’m confident in his level of professionalism, abilities, dedication and enthusiasm that he brings to the position.”

Prior to joining the City of Cocoa, Fuhrer worked for the City of Lakeland in the Office of General Counsel and served as a former law enforcement officer in both Wyoming and South Dakota.

Fuhrer, originally from Watertown, SD, graduated from Watertown High and the University of South Dakota.

He is actively involved in the Florida City and County Manager’s Association for the past several years including currently serving on the Professional Development Committee and Conference Planning Committee.

He also currently serves as a board member for Cocoa Community First, a non-profit organization that raises funds for youth mentoring in the Cocoa community.
