BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s men’s golf team wraps up its fall schedule in Monday and Tuesday’s Central Alabama Fall Invitational in Alexander City, Alabama.

Representing the Titans will be Kerry Sweeney, Brad Bawden, Corey Herman, Michael Keymont and Michael Stewart.

“Willow Point is one of the premier collegiate venues for a tournament,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jamie Howell. “Having the guys recognize how special it is to compete at a facility like Willow Point is special to say the least. In the same breath we arrive ready to compete at every event on our schedule.”

The Titans have enjoyed a successful fall season, winning the NJCAA District 4 Preview, finishing third in both the Wallace State Fall Invitational and the NJCAA Men’s Division I National Championship Preview and playing to a tie with Florida Tech to retain the Collegiate Players Cup.

They also spent time ranked No. 1 nationally in the Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches Poll and currently are ranked No. 3.

“Our attention to detail in short game work has improved,” Howell said. “The guys recognize how fine a line our tournaments are decided by and every shot is vital when added up at the end of the tournament.

“Corey Herman and Michael Keymont have both improved leaps and bounds since last year and have a better grasp of what to expect in our tournaments. Freshman Brad Bawden has come a long way since his arrival.”

Golf plays its championship season in the spring and will be seeking to qualify for the national tournament – to be held at Viera’s Duran Golf Club in May – for the 14th straight time.
