Melbourne Police, BCSO Respond To Incident At Beachside Hotel

Melbourne police arrested Laurie A. Wright on Saturday about 5:30 p.m. for Driving Under the Influence after striking a bicyclist in the area of Pineapple Avenue and St. Clair Street.
Officers from the Melbourne Police Department responded to the Radisson Oceanfront Hotel, located at 3101 N. Highway AlA, in reference to a possible armed disturbance that occurred Thursday evening at about 6 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Officers from the Melbourne Police Department responded to the Radisson Oceanfront Hotel, located at 3101 N. Highway AlA, in reference to a possible armed disturbance that occurred Thursday evening at about 6 p.m.

According to the Melbourne Police Sgt. Brian Hart, multiple officers from MPD responded, along with Deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office who arrived on scene to assist.

“The investigation revealed that the parties involved were willing participants in an undisclosed business transaction,” said Sgt. Hart in a release.

“The reporting party of this case declined any further involvement by law enforcement at this time.”

The Melbourne Police Department determined that this was not a random act of violence and that there is no further continued threat to public safety as a result of this incident.
