Melbourne Police: Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Van On N. Wickham Road

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne police reported that a pedestrian was struck and killed as he crossed N. Wickham Road, south of the Parkway Drive intersection, by a 2001 Toyota Sienna traveling southbound.
According to Melbourne Police Lt. Lt. Scott Mostert, the victim did not use the crosswalk and traffic light to cross N. Wickham Road, and was struck by the vehicle in the 2900 block of N. Wickham Road.
The victim was transported to the Holmes Regional Health First hospital emergency room where he later died from the injuries he sustained during the crash.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
No charges have been filed against the driver but the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
