Open Letter From Florida Tech Defensive Back Leo Alba II
By Leo Alba II, Florida Tech // November 6, 2015
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech defensive back Leo Alba II has a message and a request for all of Brevard County and Florida Tech fans.
Dear FIT Family,
I would like to first say it is a pleasure reaching out to you. As you are aware, this Saturday is our Homecoming Game. Let me explain to you what that means to my brothers and I.
Saturday, Nov. 7 is a day we all will remember for the rest of our lives. To you all it might just be a football game that you may or may not attend, but I assure you it is much more important than that.
This game is arguably the biggest game in the history of FIT Football.
Our opponent, West Georgia, is coming in as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. If that isn’t a good enough reason to attend the game, here is another.
We are currently tied for second place in the Gulf South Conference with a 4-1 record, right behind our upcoming opponent, who is 5-0 in conference play.
To keep it short, we are fighting for so much: to knock off the No. 1 team, for a conference championship, for a Homecoming win, for our Senior Day and to keep our playoff hopes alive.
I am telling you this, not to inform you, but to explain to you all the reasons why we need each and every one of you there. I can honestly say from personal experience that we thrive off the energy you bring.
The chants, the screaming, the cheering, we feed off of it. There is no other feeling that compares to when we make big plays, and look up into the stands and see how energized you all are. To do something we’ve never done before, we need to create a raucous atmosphere for 60 minutes.
This very moment comes once in a lifetime and it is a pleasure to have you here to share it with us. We want to take a major step in FIT Football history this weekend and finally show the country that FIT is on the map. We need you now more than ever!
Thank you all for your support and see you on Saturday.
