BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida men’s basketball player C.J. Jackson, a freshman guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, is this week’s NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week.

Jackson averaged 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3.3 steals in three games last weekend in Utah as Eastern Florida improved to 7-0.

Jackson shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the floor, 60 percent (9-of-15) on three-pointers and 80 percent (12-of-15) from the free throw line, leading Eastern Florida State to three wins in three games at the Snow College Classic.

His best game statistically came in the Classic opener against Eastern Wyoming with 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists and six steals.

Eastern Florida, ranked second in the state behind defending national champion Northwest Florida, next plays South Georgia Tech on Friday in Waycross, Georgia and South Georgia State on Saturday.

The Titans return home to face always-tough St. Petersburg College at 4 p.m. Tuesday with a 51-game home winning streak on the line.
