BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Brevard Fire Rescue responded to a train derailment in Rockledge early Sunday morning that has closed down Highway US-1 headed southbound indefinitely.
Viera Boulevard is now open.
The derailment caused one locomotive to leak diesel fuel while four other rail cars were carrying cargo containers.
There were no injuries were reported
No vehicles were involved in the incident.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
