Eastern Florida State’s Brewton, Townsend Earn Student-Athlete of Week Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Basketball players Kareem Brewton and Crystal Townsend are the Eastern Florida State College Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 13.

Brewton, a freshman sixth-man guard from Snellville, Georgia and Snellville High, scored a total of 53 points in three games and recorded six steals as Eastern Florida went 2-1 for the week to improve to 12-2.

Brewton is the Titans leading scorer.

Townsend, a sophomore forward from Cape Coral, Florida and Cape Coral High, scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Eastern Florida beat Victoria Country of Australia 100-67 to improve to 6-6.

Townsend is averaging a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game.
